chateau bourdicotte

the castle

The plots of Château Bourdicotte are backed by a hilltop overlooking the Entre-Deux-Mers. The Museum of Natural History describes this hilltop as a remarkable limestone outcrop for its diversity in orchids of more than 15 species.

These wild orchids need to develop unwooded open spaces where vegetation is low and low.

It is on this hilltop that coexist harmoniously orchids and the vines plots conducted in organic way at Château Bourdicotte.

Bourdicotte means “small farm” in Gascon. The presence of orchids around the parcels of our small farm confirms what we already knew about our territory: a low-productivity cultural horizon conducive to low yield and high-quality production.

The calcareous outcrop drains rainwater but maintains a mild humidity even during great drought, ensuring a moderate state of water stress to the vine, guarantor of aromatic, sweet and colored grapes and subtle and balanced wines.
